The Music Talks are back, the gatherings that have already become a benchmark for professionals in the music industry. This time we will meet on Wednesday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Sala Aclam in Barcelona to discuss gender (in)equality in the music and technology industries.
The Barcelona Music Lab Foundation, together with the Catalan Association of Phonographic and Videographic Producers and Publishers (APECAT) and the Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC), is organizing a new edition of “Music Talks”, a series of meetings focused on innovation within the music industry.
How can we move towards greater gender equality, with more diverse and inclusive professionals? In this session of Music Talks, we will delve into the evolution of music over the past 30 years and examine the impact of the gender gap and the challenges and opportunities the industry faces in the fight for gender parity.
And we will do so with the help of two great professionals who are experts on the subject: Thais Ruiz de Alda and Fatiha Ben Brahim.
Meet our experts:
Thais Ruiz de Alda is a passionate advocate for diversity and gender policies in the digital and technological field. She has dedicated her career, spanning two decades since 1999, to advancing these causes. Fatiha Ben Brahim is a passionate, results-oriented executive with over 30 years of international experience in the dynamic music ecosystem. Fatiha has led successful projects in notable organizations such as Gracenote/Nielsen, Fintage House, BMG Rights Management, and Music Sales. A champion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), she collaborates with DigitalFems and serves on the Advisory Board of the Gender MusicTech Project.
