We have selected the five projects for the Energy Challenge 2024!
This initiative, led by us at Barcelona Music Lab, is designed to support European startups offering innovative solutions for energy transition at music festivals.
The selected projects are:
CHALLENGE #1: Monitoring and optimizing energy usage
Magnotherm: A German company developing sustainable magnetic refrigeration technology. Their product, POLARIS, is the first magnetic beverage fridge, cooling to 5°C without harmful chemicals and with 30% greater efficiency than conventional systems.
CHALLENGE #2: Integrating renewable energy sources
Solum: Developed walkable solar panels that turn any outdoor area into a source of solar self-consumption without requiring civil works, enabling green energy generation.
Greener Power Solutions: Offers mobile electric generators powered by smart batteries, reducing the use of diesel generators at events and providing a cleaner, more efficient alternative.
CHALLENGE #3: Raising awareness and offsetting emissions
Pess Energy: Focused on designing and manufacturing portable batteries that replace gas generators. They offer mobile, reliable, innovative, and safe solutions. Their powerbanks can be recharged with solar energy, providing complete energy autonomy.
Liight: A platform encouraging sustainable habits like walking, using public transport, or recycling through artificial intelligence and gamification, rewarding users for reducing their CO₂ footprint.
The next steps for the selected projects include participating in the Startup Week on the 13th, 14th, and 15th, where representatives will join practical workshops, personalized mentoring sessions, and networking activities.
The Energy Challenge benefits from the scientific and industrial support of Eurecat and the ENIA Siemens Energy AI Chair. Energy Sustainability for a Decarbonized Society 5.0, aimed at transferring industrial expertise to the implementation of solutions in urban environments.
