Drive the energy transition in the music industry
Energy Challenge is an open innovation program by Barcelona Music Lab seeking innovative solutions to accelerate the energy transition in music festivals in Catalonia.
The call is open to startups from all over Europe proposing technological solutions capable of reducing and optimizing energy consumption, integrating renewable energies, and raising public awareness. Energy Challenge is your opportunity to collaborate with major partners and take your solution to the next level.
We seek solutions that minimize, monitor, and optimize energy consumption at festivals, reducing the use of air conditioning, lighting, and other aspects without compromising the attendee experience. Proposals that automatically adjust consumption according to needs.
We value regenerative proposals that involve attendees, artists, and suppliers in reducing emissions and advancing the energy transition. Interactive proposals promoting environmental awareness and offering mechanisms to offset the carbon footprint generated during the festival are welcome.
If your startup already has a scalable product or service and you're looking to collaborate with major players in the sector, this is your opportunity!
The challenge is open to any startup based in a European country. However, keep in mind that some of the events included in Energy Challenge will be held in person in Barcelona.
Participating startups are expected to have a scalable business model with potential for rapid growth and significant returns on investment.
Accepted startups must dedicate significant time and effort to the program, including participating in workshops, mentoring sessions, and networking events.

The product they are applying with for this challenge is POLARIS, the first magnetic beverage cooler that chills to 5°C without harmful chemicals.
Solum has developed a walkable solar panel that transforms any outdoor area into an innovative source of solar self-consumption. Designed for easy installation without the need for civil works, it enables the generation of green energy in any exterior space.
Sustainable energy solutions through mobile electric generators powered by batteries. Their focus is on reducing the use of diesel generators in events, construction, and industrial sectors by offering cleaner and more efficient alternatives. They use smart batteries supported by proprietary software integrated into their fleet.
This startup specializes in designing and manufacturing portable batteries that replace gas generators, offering mobile, reliable, innovative, and safe solutions. Combined with their solar recharging power banks, their generators take you off the grid and give you total energy self-sufficiency.
Liight is a platform that promotes sustainable habits such as using public transport, walking, or recycling. It uses artificial intelligence, mobile sensors, and gamification to validate sustainable actions, calculate the reduced CO₂ footprint, and reward users with points redeemable for prizes.
